Fascinating history, beautiful writing, hard to know what to say about it even when you're well familiar with it, except that, for the rest of your life, there will be images and vignettes that you'll be reminded of again and again. There are aspects of the history of the Copts, Zionism, bits of the Kaballah, LOVE in all its guises, and lots of (very outdated, but weighty) Freudian thought. Can't wait to hear what you think.Nancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15166865250789996825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736448434152217111.post-53849276262507507422012-02-26T09:47:36.898-05:002012-02-26T09:47:36.898-05:00This is wonderful, Beth. Looks like something to add to my list.

I agree with Mr. Mischief about the loner quote. In person, I'm pretty shy and I'm often uncomfortable in social situations, though I think I'm able to hide it. Still, it can be exhausting. I wouldn't say it's always that other people disappoint me. Usually I'm afraid I'll disappoint other people.

I think the need to be alone is a characteristic of most writers. We're loners by nature and writing is a solitary act.Ramona Grigghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160614050077886238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736448434152217111.post-11187613077411327552012-02-25T21:39:50.980-05:002012-02-25T21:39:50.980-05:00Every time I hear of Alexandria my thoughts turn t...Every time I hear of Alexandria my thoughts turn toward the magnificent library it once housed.Jerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04278403041887060649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736448434152217111.post-63148960784635861632012-02-25T15:44:28.337-05:002012-02-25T15:44:28.337-05:00“Let me tell you this: if you meet a loner, no mat...“Let me tell you this: if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude.
