I've been seeing a quote making the rounds in Blogtropolis, and it has showed up here at Nutwood in comments. It is a quote by Adrian Rogers.
I had never heard of this person, so I did a little looking. Interesting fellow. I especially enjoyed reading his thoughts on slavery.
Heard this in the AM on Neal Boortz. Wasn't this guy a preacher??
ReplyDeleteGood grief! I'd never heard of him and had no idea what quote you were talking about. Interesting wasn't quite the adjective I was thinking of for him though.
ReplyDeleteInteresting cat. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteyikes
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, interesting to say it in a nutshell. Take care,

I haven't thought about that guy since he died. I guess that's part of the problem. We should NEVER forget about hatred, intolerance, and prejudice and those who spout it. If we snooze, we lose. Thanks for the heads-up!
ReplyDeleteSo now I'm curious about the quote that's been seen?
ReplyDeleteJudging by his wikipedia entry, he sounds like an ass. Even so, it doesn't change the wisdom of the quote. Change the attribution to 'anonymous' and the same people would nod their heads in agreement.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of him before reading this. Now that I have, I can't say that I'm sorry that he is gone. I had to double check to make sure he wasn't born in 1831 instead of 1931. I look forward to the day when the pulpit goes back to being non-political. Perhaps I shouldn't hold my breath...
