I even had a '76 Cordoba ... yes, it had the 'rich corinthian leather'. He was 88, and I have to imaging his life was as rich as the leather in the car he sold!
I didn't know he had died... I loved him on Fantasy Island... loved his voice. Even the sound of his name, Montalban... love saying it. He was a handsome man, at any age. Okay, so I just googled it, and he was 88 years old... a good long life. It is sad news.
I just Googled him~he passed away today at his home in Los Angeles at age 88 years old. Those of us old enough to remember will always remember him on "Fantasy Island." Sympathies to his family & friends. Linda in WA
Hi Beth, How sad. And, strange to say, I thought he had passed away some time ago. Between us, I can't help wondering whether his coffin will be lined with Fine Corinthian Leather ... Best, Marty
People remember Fantasy Island, but nobody seems to remember Montlaban and Lamas, the great Latin lovers of MGM. Montalban was a fine actor, one of the best. He should be rememberd for the work nobody remembers. Every time he showed up on some second rate TV drama he upgraded it. He didn't get the roles he should have, but that's show biz.
my mom emailed about this...she is devastated...she has sex fantasies about foreign men that act...i guess this dude was one of them. Eww...i never knew and now wish i had still did not know. LOL XO
My mother was hot for him oh so many years ago. Not the Fantasy Island persona, way before that. At my age, it was a little hard to believe he was anything more than, well, Mr Fantasy Island. I'm sure that paid the bills, but it probably isn't what he wanted to be remembered for.
Did I miss something in the news?
ReplyDeleteIsn't the same actor who was on Fantasy Island?

ReplyDeleteRicardo Montalban must have been a contender for Lady's Man of the year at least a few times during his lifetime
