"Stand By Me"

Our friend RaQuel sent me this. I thought it was so cool, and wanted to share it with you all. Indy, it's musicians from around the world singing and playing the classic "Stand By Me." It made me cry! (But in a good way.)

  1. Because it is soo universal ... you don't have to be someone or something special to want for someone to stand by you ... and one thing that I think is evident is the love that the musicians have for making the music. They feel the soul of the song, and can channel their own and make the spirit of the song transcendent.

  7. WOW- What a technical marvel as well as a social marvel! Someone put a lot (a LOT) of time into engineering this- I'm glad that respect the credibility of street musicians! There are lots of them in New Orleans- some much better than others- but I always love to hear them because they are so much part of the "soul" of the city!

  8. Loved it....I mean I really, really loved this. Brought tears to me as well. I guess it goes to show no matter where we are or who we are we all need someone to just stand by us.

  9. That was a great rendition Beth. I was particularily pleased to see the Zulu women on teh South African clip...Did you know that only the married women wear these kind of hats, and they NEVER take them off....even at night they sleep in them !! they have special shaped pillows, we saw them when we visisted a Zulu village near where we were staying.
Much Love and have a wonderful Christmas and may 2009 be a great year for you both.
